A couple of awards were handed out last night at the Columbus Public Library. Annie Glenn was given the 2005 Julian Sinclair Smith Celebration of Learning Award. She gave a speech about how she overcame her speech impediment. She was followed by Pulitzer prize winning author Richard Russo who gave a thirty minute spiel about how funny it is when people stutter. Really
I hereby award Russo the 2005 Phlip's Rants Jackass of the Year Award which will further be known as the Russy.
Disclaimer: I was not at the actual event. The story was revealed to me last night by an attendee.
