Poll Tax

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy. How could you fall for this shit. Jimmy Carter and James Baker III defend their proposal for mandating picture ID's for voting in an editorial in today's New York Times (Not part of Times Select). Both of them say that, yes, they are concerned about the twelve percent of the voting population is currently without picture ID. I believe one of them, Carter.

Baker and the rest of the republicans must be thrilled they got Carter to sign on to, as Rep. John Conyers says, the new poll tax. I would guess 95% of the 12% without fail vote Democratic in elections. Not to mention that it makes it easy to disenfranchise poor voters though rumors about what will happen when they show their ID's at polling locations.

It is pretty sad that Iraq with the purple finger thing has a better electoral process than we do. Why are we trying to promote democracy abroad while destroying it at home? We know the answer, it is so republicans can actively loot the federal treasury.

Go back to building houses old man.
