Time To Change The House GOP Rules Again

Tom Delay has been indicted on one count of criminal conspiracy. The former GOP house rules called for any member of the leadership under investigation to step down. When Delay came under investigation, those rules changed to indicted. Time for another change? Convicted? Out on Appeal? Not in the chair yet?

This grand jury ran out first so that's how Delay beat the others to the indictment finish line. The 109th Congress may have as many as four congressmen charged with crimes (Ney, Cunningham, and Jefferson are the other three). I thought the Delay indictment was the least likely.

I was joking about the House leadership rules. It has been announced that Delay will step down and will be replaced by David Drier in the House leadership. Delay must be thinking comeback because Drier isn't really a strong choice for the leadership.

No wonder these guys want to pack the courts.
