Taft To Be Charged

Ron "Ghoul" O'Brien is holding a three o'clock presser to announce four charges against Bob Taft. Taft will be charged with four first degree misdemeanor counts of ethics violations punishable by up to $1,000 fine and six months in jail per count. Look for Taft to plea and pay.

Interesting note that I didn't know about the Ohio Constitution. This is an impeachable offense even without conviction, although I don't look for that to happen. But, you never know, Taft's approval numbers are similar to Pol Pot's, and it might be a good tactical move for Ohio republicans to chalk the keel with him. That would start the meme that they are sweeping the graft out of Ohio.

Don't buy that if they try to sell it to you. Ohio republicans come around at election time to pat you on the back, then they return to Columbus to stab you in the back.

I'm half way home, I wonder if I win that free lunch bet times four if he is convicted on all counts.
