Joe Sulzer

I'd like to throw a shout out to Joe Sulzer, the mayor of my childhood hometown who threw his hat in the ring to take on the ethically challenged Bob Ney in the Ohio-18 race. This race will probably be the ugliest race in history, with both candidates throwing daggers all the way through.

Fuck it, Ill throw the first one. The Ney story that he won $34,000 off a one hundred dollar bet in a London casino doesn't pass the smell test. I can't think of a way that this is statistically possible, and I know a lot about casino gambling. Ney needs to explain this. Especially since he met with Nigel Winfield at the same casino earlier. Winfield, a three time felon, was trying to enlist Ney's help to sell planes to the Middle East.

First of all, I'd like to say that the following is speculation. I can't prove any of this, yet. Why would Winfield look to Ney for help? Because of Ney's relationship with scandal pal Jack Abramoff, who at the time was in the employ of Saleh Abdullah Kamel, chairman of the General Council for Islamic Banks. Kamel was well placed to facilitate the sales Winfield was looking for, and Ney is much, much cheaper than the couple million Abramoff would have charged. I'd really like to see the cage receipts from that casino at the time Ney claims he won the money.

I'm pretty sure Ney's winnings were a straight cash money bribe from Winfield.
