I Gotta Admire The Effort

As the republican party digs deep into their bag of tricks to try to steal yet another election, I gotta tell you, I admire the lengths they went through to try it. Take this for example, in Virginia Tim Daly received this automated call. From Daily Kos:

"This message is for Timothy Daly. This is the Virginia Elections Commission. We've determined you are registered in New York to vote. Therefore, you will not be allowed to cast your vote on Tuesday. If you do show up, you will be charged criminally."

Now if you're willing to go to the effort to cross reference the voting rolls of every state to try to come up with a number of voters likely to vote against you, that is something. It also tells me that the RNC is probably complicit in these endeavors and not simply supporters of the GOP. Anyone up for a federal RICO charge for Ken Mehlman? The DOJ has opened an investigation.

Two other calls into Virginia came reportedly from Montana and California to inform voters that their voting location has been changed, it hasn't. The bottom line is that this appears to be nationally coordinated micro-targeting, which the republicans are known for. The only question at this point is how far the DOJ investigation will go, who will get exposed, and how much of their vaunted 72 hour program is going to get put into the public realm.
