In a surprise move, Sandra Day O'Connor announced her retirement from the Supreme Court today. Her retirement will be effective the day a replacement is confirmed. This could be the first of three SCOTUS judges to resign during Bush's second term.
This could lead to a radical remake of the rule of law in the US. A stacking of conservative judges on the bench is something we must oppose at all costs including risking making the republicans invoke the nuclear option. I don't understand why conservatives want to nominate judges that try to move us back to the 19th century. Can't they just go live with the Amish?

Why must you mock the Amish... they don't deserve these Ahole conservatives either... heck, they oppose war and all that stuff. AND If we had more Amish, we'd have more great cheeses and jellies and pie... and that would make the whole world better. Although more modern hygene should be encouraged.
