Yesterday's Election

We had a 16% turnout yesterday. Beefy. The smoking ban amendment to allow smoking in bars failed. It was a pretty poorly run campaign. Hell, even I forgot it was election day until I got home from work. The smoking ban amendment's campaign should have at least put the election date on their lit.

I think the missing key to this is the interest rates... right now there are still opportunities for buyers to get an affordable home, at a low rate and lock it in... preventing long term loss to high rates. The problem is that so many folks are paying too much for the home because of social/realtor pressures on the market. If a person does plan on being an owner, now is still the time to buy before rates continue their climb in the next two years. It can literally save thousands of dollars for a buyer each year.
