Cuba's In The World Baseball Classic

The Bush administration has issued a licence to allow Cuba to play in the World Baseball Classic. The catch is that Cuba will donate all of the proceeds it receives to Katrina relief. You have to wonder if Fidel Castro's school yard taunts of chicken prompted the Bush administration's turn around on this issue.

It probably doesn't matter, the only team that would have a chance of beating the US is the Dominican Republic, and that's only if all of the players originally from there played for them. Alex Rodriguez, for example, is playing for the US.

As I wrote before though, without Cuba in the mix, this would have been the World Baseball Crappic.
